It’s Friday! And, we’re headed into a three-day weekend! Shoot off the confetti cannons for that joy and extra luxury. The temperature is swinging up from the 40s into the 60s and 70s here this weekend which means windows down, doors open, pre-spring sunshine is ahead too. Thank for being here with me – whatever your weekend looks like, I hope you do something fun.
Something I did: Bought tickets to see Oprah this Saturday. Yes, that is right — me and Oprah Winfrey are going to be in the same room tomorrow. She’s coming to town for her 2020 Vision tour and I sat on the fence for a long time about whether to spend the money and go see her. I am trying to make wise financial decisions and this is just one day … but then I told myself this isn’t just for 2020 Caitlin — this is for little girl Caitlin who watched The Oprah Show every day after school and sent a hand-written letter to Harpo Studios asking for an autograph. Who did school projects on Oprah and apparently talked about her so much that my French teacher would cut out articles and tape them to her door for me. This is for now and for the ages. I’m already giddy.
Something I read: “Such a Fun Age” by Kiley Reid. Fantastic dialogue. Made me laugh out loud. Great fiction book commenting on class and race. And, the book cover is so prettay.
Something I heard: Interviews with John Eldredge on his most recent book, Get Back Your Life. He’s talking about how beauty plays a huge role in restoring us from trauma and that’s something I not only very much believe in, but have lived myself. I’m mentally putting the book at the top of by TBR pile. (He also wrote this book on Jesus that changed my life.) Click here to hear his interview with Gabe and Rebekah Lyons.
Something I saw: This INCREDIBLE dress by Molly Goddard. What she does with tulle slays me. Her pieces are on my dream wardrobe list.
Something that made me smile: Some of the Navvaro cheerleaders were at Brandon Maxwell’s fashion show last week to cheer on models a they came down the runway. How great is that? Jerry is a world treasure and his mat talk is my favorite.
