Something I heard: Second Life Podcast.
Recommended by a friend, so far I’ve listened to episodes with Rachel Zoe, Reese Witherspoon, Emily Henderson and Mandy Moore. Incredibly inspiring for doing the things you love in life. Girl crushes abound.
Something I saw: A perfect Vote tee
There’s no party lines or platform pushing. Just vote. Use your voice and the celebrate a country where you can raise it as loud as you want. That’s all. And of course, it’s Madewell.
Something I tried: Stovetop Espresso Maker
Once when I was living in Paris, I needed to find an apartment to live in for about six weeks. This was before the days of Air BnB and such, and through a friend of a friend, I connected with an Italian exchange student who was leaving for the summer. He invited me over to see his apartment one morning, at the crack of 9 or 10 a.m. After I woke him up with several phone calls and texts, and we climbed the six floors to the apartment (the scariest, worst apartment I’d ever seen). It took all of 10 seconds to survey the entire space and then he turned to me and said, “A coffee?” and proceeded to make us coffee from a stovetop espresso maker … which we drank from yogurt jars while sitting on his bed (the only place to sit). Recently my friends pulled out their new stovetop espresso maker for some post-dinner Cuban coffees and it inspired me to see what the fuss is about. Verdict? I love the strong coffee in the morning. I’m someone who love the act of coffee drinking … gimme, gimme more is usually the song I think (thank you, Britney), but this brutally strong version is a 2020 change that I’m quite enjoying.
