I know that it’s still winter and March has only begun, but there’s been something extra in the air this week. Have you felt it?
Texas can be behind in a lot of things, but spring is rarely one of them. I realize that we’re always rushing from one season to the next: in summer, we dream of fall, in fall, we squeal for Christmas and in winter, we long for spring, but there’s something unique and powerfully hopeful about spring, don’t you think? This week as the sun exhaled one long, last time and tones of pink and purple, orange, yellow and blue stretched out overhead, I could really sense for the first time that change is coming.
In the glow of this week’s lingering light, today is grey and cloud-filled, but this moment is a foretelling glimpse. Spring is near, the light is coming.
