I was reading Psalm 18 a few months ago when this verse stopped me in my tracks.
The act of stooping in its very essence is humbling – a moment in which you literally decrease your stature.
He stoops…
for me.
He stoops…
for you.
And best of all, He stoops to make me…
great?
The love of God is audacious, ignoring any semblance of common sense man holds. In a world where creation climbs on top of one another to stand the tallest, the Creator stoops down to make His people great. Not because He has to or because they deserve it. No, He stoops down because His love is great and His wish for us to draw near is strong. He stoops so that we know that we are not alone and so that He can help us along this journey of life. Because He is not a far-off God, but one who is near, One who knows our lives because He is intimately involved with them.
Audacious love, my friends. That is the kind of love you were made with and for, so please, let Him stoop down to you.
