There used to be a tree that stood in my backyard and on sunny days I would lay on my bed, staring through the sunlight and up into its branches that shot out like wriggly fingers on a hand. I would get lost in thought about its beauty and stature. It was a great view, but my parents had it removed this week for a new fence. And now, out my window all I see is blue, blue sky. An empty tableau of infinite possibilities.
Life is full of beautiful trees whose branches and leaves dazzle our minds and imaginations. And when they are sometimes removed, our view is dramatically altered. The new, empty space can be disorienting at first, even sad – the tree was so beautiful after all – but its absence also makes room for something new, something possibly even greater than that tree.
Only time will tell, but until then, we mustn’t stop looking.

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
