Things to love about Magazine Street:
1. It’s full of color.
2. It’s the perfect place to fill a craving from French sweets at Sucre to po’boys at Mahony’s to tapas at Baru.
3. A real neighborly feeling fills every inch of the street, complete with beaucoups of smiles, ‘good mornings’ and ‘hey, how you doin today?’
4. You can fulfill your vintage shopping dreams and decorate to your shabby-chic heart’s content. Seriously, there’s no need to go elsewhere… and take my advice, Funky Monkey is not to be missed.
5. These people have pride – for their Saints and for their city – and love to tell you allll about it.
6. Practically glowing with New Orleans’ distinct charm, it doesn’t hold the crowds that the French Quarter does. This is where the locals hang.
And like I’ve said before, if one day I find myself putting down roots in NOLA, this is where you can find me as well. Magazine Street is a definite must the next time you are in the Big Easy.
