One of the benefits of unemployment (and let’s be honest, there are few so you best take advantage of them) is the freedom to go anywhere you can take your laptop and phone. So when a friend invites you along on a work trip to New Orleans and Baton Rouge, there’s next to no hesitation – you just say yes. This week, I’m in Louisiana and doing one of my favorite things: looking for stories, people and details to capture while wandering around an unfamiliar place.
In the words of Mumford and Sons, I’m a hopeless wanderer. And until my meant-to-be next step / job / place to be down roots appears, I’m learning to be okay with it.
