Adjacent to the Gare de l’Est (East Train Station) sits the quiet, unassuming, but all together quirky Au Train de Vie. A friend and I saw the cafe featured in a movie last week and were too intrigued to not follow up. It was the seats that caught our eyes: train seats to be exact.
Entirely filled with old train elements, the cafe is divided into first and and second class seat sections with overhead storage and Gare de l’Est clocks. We were delighted to discover that the charm didn’t stop with the decor; sinking into the train seats, we stayed until closing time and were treated to conversation and coffees on the house by the owner.
On quiet rue Des Deux Gares, Au Train de Vie is a stellar place to stop, in the middle of life, to catch up on life or simply watch is pass by as it rolls out of Gare de l’Est.

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
