I’ve had the pleasure of writing a number of scripts in recent years. For about a year, a wrote weekly announcement scripts for a multi-campus church to use in each of their venues on Sunday. I also wrote scripts for sermon series bumpers — often just being handed a big idea to whittle down into something they could use for their filming inspiration. Other times, I write scripts for end-of-year videos, classes, and introductions to ministries.
Writing for scripts literally takes the words from a screen and puts them into your mouth — making sure the phrases come out smooth, the intonation hits right, and you’re not boring your audience with too much information.
